Cell Survivor Weapons Tier List and What to Pull
Cell Survivor weapons ranked by the job they do, with a pull-or-skip call for each: boss finishers, wave clear, farming tools and the starters to ignore.
A tier list only helps if it tells you what to do with your next 3,000 gems. "Abyssal Maw is S+" is trivia. "Abyssal Maw is the reason you stop failing at the end of a chapter, and Satellite Storm is the reason you stop failing at the start of one" is a plan.
The rankings below follow the October 2026 tier list for version 4.1, which is built around raw damage, scaling and late-game utility. I have added the job each weapon actually performs, because a weapon that is excellent at one job is often mediocre at the other two.
Read the table by job, not by letter
Three jobs matter in Cell Survivor:
- Wave clear kills the swarm and the smaller segments so you can keep shooting the marked ones.
- Boss damage deals with a single segment that has an unreasonable health bar. Percentage damage and execution effects belong here.
- Utility buys time, locks a target in place, or covers a lane your damage cannot reach.
A run wants one weapon from the first two jobs and one utility or area weapon. Three boss weapons with no coverage is how players die while carrying the best weapon in the game.
| Weapon | Job | Tier | Pull or skip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abyssal Maw | Boss finisher: executes the last stretch of a segment | S+ | Pull |
| Satellite Storm | Boss and wave: percent max HP true damage at purple | S+ | Pull after Maw |
| Machine Heart | Main damage, ranked S on raw output | S | Pull only if you lack a red carry |
| Large Scalpel | Utility support for center spawns | S | Secondary target |
| Monkey King | Wave clear burst: early lightning ends stages | S- | Situational pull |
| Skyfall Star | Farm tool: pairs with pierce in Golden Pig | S- | Pull for farming |
| Sterile Swab | Area control and early carry; stack size and duration | S- | Free pickup, no pull |
| White Angel | Crit-scaling burst; nerfed, needs a crit build | S- | Skip unless owned |
| Disinfectant Bubble, Gout, Nitrogen Machine, Spinning Dagger | Situational; the dagger only shines at close range | A- | Skip |
| Acupuncture, Bandaid, Massage Stick | Early and mid damage before you own reds | B | Free picks only |
| Capsule | Forced starter; falls off hard after the early chapters | B | Skip — do not upgrade |
| Defibrillator, Mosquito Swatter, Small Medical Tower | Close-range or undocumented picks | B | Free picks only |
| Tidestone | C tier, no job it does better than a free pick | C | Skip |
| Roulette, Tadpole | D tier | D | Skip |
| Hyperostosis, Snot Dragon Power, Special-effect Tablet | F tier; weak modifiers | F | Skip |
What the top of the list is actually for
Abyssal Maw is not a damage weapon. Its value is execution: it finishes the last part of a segment's health bar outright, which removes the exact situation that ends most late runs — a segment walking the final stretch with a sliver of health. That is why it is the first red weapon to chase.
Satellite Storm handles the opposite problem. At its purple upgrade it deals percentage true damage, which is the only reliable answer to health bars that scale faster than your attack stat. The two together cover both ends of a fight: Storm grinds, Maw finishes.
White Angel used to sit next to the Maw in that combo and was nerfed. It still works, but only if your crit chance and crit damage are already high. Buying it first is buying a weapon that is waiting for a stat you do not have.
Pull or skip: how to spend 3,000 gems
The pull economy is easy to plan around. Ten-pulls cost 3,000 gems and are the only efficient way to pull. The pity counter guarantees a red weapon essence of your choice at 100 pulls, which is ten bundles.
- Never pull singles. A single pull costs the same per attempt, discounts nothing, and moves the counter once.
- Count bundles, not gems. If you have 2,000 gems, you have zero pulls. Saving to 3,000 is the play.
- Choose the selector for the gap you have, not the tier letter. If you own no red carry, take the Maw. If you own the Maw, take the Storm.
- Stop pulling when the next red would not change a run. Extra weapons do not help if your in-run choices cannot level them.
Skipping is a decision too. Do not spend a selector on a weapon whose job another weapon already covers.
The three-choice perk problem
The weapon you own is only half the run. The other half is the three-choice card after each marked segment, and the cards decide whether your pull was worth it.
- If a card upgrades your main weapon, take it, even when the other two look more interesting.
- If no card touches your main, take coverage over a new weapon. Size, duration and fire rate on an area weapon still clear waves.
- If you are running the Capsule in slot one, refuse its cards. The forced starter is a slot, not a plan.
- If the stage spawns you in the center, favor close-range weapons; if you spawn at the bottom, favor wide area weapons. Position decides whether a weapon's damage ever connects.
A simple synergy that works before you own reds: stack Sterile Swab size and duration, add the fireball upgrade, and let the swab field do the wave clear while a targeted weapon handles the head.
The free-player route
You do not need a red weapon to start. The Capsule is forced into your first slot, and the correct response is to leave it at base level and put early cards into anything else. Sterile Swab carries the early chapters because it hits the body reliably and its area upgrades compound. Acupuncture and Massage Stick are the practical damage picks for farming runs, where you often cannot add new weapons after the opening picks.
Your first real goal is not a tier-list weapon. It is 3,000 gems in the bank, then ten bundles, then a red that fixes the job you keep losing to.
When the tier list is wrong
Two things make a ranking lie to you. Position: Small Medical Tower and Spinning Dagger are much better when the virus passes close to you, and much worse on wide maps, so their tier moves with the stage. Patches: White Angel's fall is the clearest example. Check the update date on any list you use, and assume anything older than the current version has moved.
The durable rule: if a weapon's job is already covered, its tier letter does not matter.
